TOR to carry out an Agro socio economic assessment of villages of Kombo Itindi

General Objectives

The overall goal of the activity is to identify Income Generating Activities (IGA) in Kombo Itindi and build the capacity of locals so as to increase their household incomes through livelihood diversification and break the over dependence on mangrove and other aquatic resource extraction.

Specific Objective

ü  Identification of key agricultural and other income generating activities within the different villages of Kombo Itindi sub-division.

ü  Prioritise or rank in other of importance the different IGA’s

ü  Propose a series of IGA’s that the project can capitalise on in collaboration with local communities to improve upon their house hold incomes and livelihoods.

ü  Identify possible market outlets for different agricultural products in the Bakassi peninsula.

ü  Evaluate the capacity and willingness of communities to engage in the implementation of IGA’s.

ü  Collection of basic socio-economic data is collected for the different villages.

ü  Carry out a cost benefit analysis for the different IGA’s
